The Bentley EXP 9F SUV has been one of the big talking points of Europe’s first major motor show of the year, but the British luxury brand’s head of design, Dirk van Braeckel, says the concept is designed to create a reaction. “[This concept] is our first hit at [creating a Bentley SUV],” the Belgian designer (pictured below with the concept) told CarAdvice in an exclusive interview. “I’m sure people will like it, [but] people will [also] find it controversial in certain areas. “And that’s a reason why the vehicle has already been a success.
Here is the spec and review of car 2012 Bentley SUV in Geneva. Bentley a British luxury car company some time ago made the news that it would make a car-type SUV, and the world’s largest automotive event, Geneva Motor Show, Bentley confirm revealed the news with its latest SUV, named EXP 9 F. Bentley said that any car made by the company should be a nice car, fast car, and the best in its class, then they are also very serious in doing this project.
According to a company press release, the EXP 9 F concept was developed to show the “potential for [a] third Bentley model line alongside [the] Mulsanne and Continental ranges.” Despite that hedging, most observers expect something similar to start sale during 2015, probably as a 2016 intro for the U.S. and other markets. Dürheimer himself all but confirmed it at Geneva, saying that “We are very excited by the potential of a high-performance, ultra luxury Bentley SUV. We know that many Bentley customers already own SUVs, admiring their style, luxury, performance, and versatility. With EXP 9 F, Bentley is making a clear statement of intent that we have both the expertise and desire to meet and exceed their expectations…While we have not made any final decisions to produce the EXP 9, we are clearly on our way in R&D.” So, big wink, big nudge, and the CEO’s promise of “the fastest, most luxurious, most expensive SUV you can buy.”

What’s more, the driver’s ‘H’ point [hip point] is nearly 4 inches higher than the Porsche’s, but over an inch lower than the Range Rover’s. Look under the hood, and you’ll marvel that the Conti GT turns at all. Yet turn it does, even if it is better suited to long sweepers than tight first gear corners. The steering comes off center predictably but weights up dramatically toward full lock. Slowing for a curve, the car dives forward and the brakes reveal a grabby spot in the middle of their travel. Grab a downshift from the column mounted paddles, and all is forgiven: The six speed ZF trans will let you plunge two gears in an instant to put you in the middle of the flex fuel 6.0 liter W 12’s power band, an expletive rife zone that begins at 1500 rpm and doesn’t let up until the horizon. This engine didn’t need any more power, but it gets some: 15 more hp, for a total of 567, and 37 more lb ft, pegging the total at 516. Bentley expects the 0 to 60 mph sprint to take 4.4 seconds.
Bentley SUV Engine :
Bentley SUV Engine. | Bentley has so far released few technical details on the EXP 9 F, but has said that the concept employs all wheel drive, an 8 speed automatic transmission, and a complex 6.0 liter W12 engine borrowed from its Continental and Flying Spur models. Various sources believe the production 2016 Bentley SUV will be offered with an updated 6.3 liter twin turbo W12 producing around 600 horsepower via adoption of direct fuel injection and low friction internal components, plus cylinder deactivation as a fuel saving measure. But because Bentley can tap a wide range of components within the vast Volkswagen Group warehouse, it’s expected the SUV will also be offered with the Bentley tweaked version of the Audi developed twin turbo 4.0 liter V8 that’s now available for the Continental. Autocar says a diesel V8 will be listed too, along with a plug in gas/electric hybrid option based on a supercharged V6. These would also likely be Audi sourced and Bentley fettled, but U.S. availability is unclear. We’d guess the hybrid has a better chance of coming here than the diesel, but you never know.
